For the first post of this blog I have used some of the brand new dies from Sue Wilson.

I used Centura Pearl card stock from Crafters Companion and some gold card stock that I have had for ever. I used a Crafters Companion embossing folder and matted this onto gold card and stuck them to the base card.

For the topper I used Sue Wilson’s Granada die from the Spanish collection. I cut the main die in gold and then cut it again in Centura Pearl and used the inner die and stuck them together. I stamped a sentiment from Big sentiments by Personal Impressions and die cut this using the smallest die from the Granada collection and stuck this on using foam tape.

I created the flower using Sue Wilson’s classic rose die, I also cut out 2 of the leaves. I tied a bow and inserted some pearls on a reel into the bow and glues the flower on top.

Week 8

This week involved creating a layered back ground and then seeing what emerged to be the focal point, a technique that Mystele, the teacher called pulling. With this technique, anything goes, so faces can be distorted. Also seems like a technique that Jung would have thought open to interpretation as it displays the inner psyche

So here is mine

Tried this technique with a different pice of work, which I may post a piccie of next week.

Week 6

Week 6 was a lesson from Tam that involved painting over a collage.

Here it is in progress

Found painting over the face a little difficult because it was so small. Also lost a little of the detail which I didn’t want to lose, but I know it is there.

Life Book week 5

Week 5 involved a transfer of a photo of myself using gesse, then painting over it.

Week 3

This week looking at opposite goddesses, e.g light and dark.

These are sketches and not a finshed work but have been investigating my goddesses this afternoon. Hathar really resonated with me today.

Especially the music and dance part, in particular the percussive instrument, really enjoy drumming circles.

The other goddesses that has resonated with me today is Ceridwen. I have really felt like exploring my inner crone and for me that is the contrast for me at the moment, fertility v’s change.

Just sketched them to see how they fitted and they felt right, I will probably put them in my life book, although there are problems with the sketch [shut up inner critic]. Think I will go for a painting rather than the hatching technique, as I din’t seem able to manage it. But I’m ok with that

First week

This is the first week in the year long art course I am taking called Life Book. It is run by Tamara Lamporte but there are many teachers joining in as well.

This is the journal page for the first week. It is about recognising my own goddess superpowers.
